Mrs. Kaur's Teaching Portfolio

Hello, Horner Hornets ! My name is Manpreet Kaur, and I am so excited to be your 7th Grade Math teacher this year!

This will be my second year at Horner Middle School, and I am thrilled to continue being part of this wonderful school community. I have been teaching for the past four years, and one of my favorite parts of teaching is watching students discover that they are capable of much more than they sometimes believe.

I earned my teaching credential from Santa Clara University and hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from India. Before becoming a teacher in California, I also spent more than three years as a Lecturer at a semi-public college in India. My background in computer science has shaped the way I see mathematics—as a way to think, investigate, solve problems, make connections, and understand the world around us.

I have called California home since 2012, and over the years, I have built a life filled with family, learning, and meaningful experiences. I am a proud mom of three, and my family continues to be a big part of who I am. Growing up in India and building my life in California has given me the opportunity to experience and appreciate different cultures, traditions, and perspectives. I bring that appreciation into my classroom by creating a welcoming environment where every student feels seen, valued, respected, and encouraged to be themselves.
